Scribbles, as he is known to his friends, was born in a desolate alley in the heart of New York City.  There was no sign of his parents in sight, and Scribbles had to make a start on the world alone.  Through the many roads he traveled, Scribbles became very street-savvy in a hurry.  This fast talking mouse, with his hair-brained schemes always seems to find the quick way to a whole lot of trouble!  

With a heart of gold and a smile that begs for laughter, this mouse could be easily liked!  

He spent his early years searching for his lost family. After many years, he did eventually find them.  Oh, the joyous day that he met his parents.  He primped and fussed and made himself very dapper to meet his beloved family.  When he arrived, he was bursting with glee!  As they embraced and chattered away, Scribbles had finally reached the destination of his long journey.  After dinner, they all sat in the library, and proceeded to read stories together.   "What's this?" thought Scribbles, "mice that can read AND write?"   Not wanting to be shown up,  Scribbles soon resolved to find himself a teacher so that he too could read and write, and that's where "Smarts" comes in!  Smarts, the old wise owl,  taught Scribbles all he needed to know about reading and writing.

Scribbles, as his name would imply, tends to write too quickly out of sheer excitement, and all of his words tend to look like itty-bitty scribbles!  Not many people can make out what Scribbles writes, but Smarts can read every word, and does so without a second thought!  He is so proud of Scribbles.  "Oh Scribbles!" he exclaims, "what a treat it is to read your wonderful stories!"  It's Scribbles' job to write the stories here at ToonTales, and he's always happy to hear from his readers, so don't be afraid to write, you hear?
